While the recent Oakden scandal has thrust the issue of elder abuse into the public eye, there is still a lot that the community must do to keep an eye out for all forms of elder abuse – physical, sexual, psychological and, most commonly, financial. Safeguarding Your Health and Wellbeing will provide participants more information about what elder abuse is, the red flags they should look out for and how they can help protect everyone in our community.

Sessions include:

  • Living a Positive Life: Doris Gioffre, Aged Rights Advocacy Service
  • Dispute Resolution Service: Michelle Howse, Office of the Public Advocate
  • How To Get On With Life: Tara Simpson, Legal Services Commission SA
  • Safeguarding the rights of older people: Gary Campbell, Public Trustee
  • Home Assist Program: Sergeant Malcolm Racz, SA Police
