Living a Positive Life Toolkit

When: Thursday 8th March 2018
Time: 10-11.30am
Where: Aged Rights Advocacy Service, 16 Hutt Street, Adelaide 500

You are invited to participate in a free training opportunity for Community Service providers.

Current Australian research indicates that approximately 1 in 20 older Australians experience some form of financial, emotional, physical or sexual abuse, or neglect from someone they know and trust, most often a family member. Known risk factors include social isolation, physical or emotional dependency, and financial vulnerability.

This free session will explain how providers can use the "Living a Positive Life Toolkit" to begin conversations with their consumers about the ways in which staying active and engaged, as we age, can help safeguard against the risk of abuse.

The four key messages promoted in the toolkit are:

  • Stay Connected
  • Stay Active
  • Stay Healthy
  • Stay in Control.

Each organisation attending this session will receive a copy of the Toolkit.

Morning tea will be provided.
