New Blog Post - Put Yourself First - Women's Health Week Event

It's coming up for that time of year again, the week of the 4th to the 8th of September marks Women's Health Week 2017. The two biggest barriers for women not maintaining a healthy lifestyle are ‘lack of time’ and ‘health not being a priority’. Women’s Health Week is the time to put ourselves first, for just one week, and start making positive changes that can last a lifetime.

South Australia has a state election on Saturday March 17 - 2018.

COTA SA is holding a series of conversations around the state with older people in the pre election period.

The conversations will contribute to the development of the COTA SA state election platform.

We want to:

- hear the views of older South Australians
- aim to understand the issues that affect older people
- find out the goals, priorities and needs of older south Australians

Retirement Village Legislation Information Sessions

The Department for Health and Ageing through the Office for the Ageing (OFTA) is responsible for the administration of the Retirement Villages Act 1987 (the Act) and the Retirement Villages Regulations 2006 (the Regulations).

OFTA will be conducting a series of information sessions in late August 2017. These sessions aim to provide attendees with a broad overview of the incoming legislation and any changes that may affect prospective residents, residents and operators of retirement villages.

Survey: Evaluating Universal Design in the Built Environment

Deakin University Australia is seeking input from individuals with an interest in or experience of applying &/or evaluating Universal Design (UD) in built environments.

This research aims to identify approaches currently used to evaluate how Universal Design is applied to the built environment. Findings have the potential to increase uptake of Universal Design by industry professionals, governments and community members, and to enhance social participation for everyone, particularly people with disabilities.

The survey typically takes 10-15 minutes to complete.

Call for Participants: Chronic Pain Survey

Survey Invitation: What effect fear of pain and coping strategies have on chronic pain patients' well being?

The University of Adelaide researchers (Dr Manasi Mittinty and Prof Lisa Jamieson) would like to invite individuals who experience persistent pain (more than 6 months) to participate in an online survey study. This study aims at understanding the affect fear of pain and coping strategies have on patients' overall well-being. If you have persistent pain, and aged 18 years and above please participate.
