COTA SA annually makes submission to the South Australian Government on behalf of all its members.
COTA SA has recently completed its submission to the 2011-2012 State Budget:
The 2011-12 Budget Submission contains 38 recommendations covering all key policy areas, including a whole-of-government approach to ageing; concessions; essential services; transport; health; end of life decisions; older workers; housing and home maintenance; and information technology.
In the lead up to the Budget, COTA SA will be fighting particularly hard for increased concessions.
Recent increases to water and energy concessions have already been eroded by rising costs, and others have not been updated in years. COTA SA will seek to ensure that our elected representatives recognise the cost of living pressures faced by older people and commit to ensuring that the full range of concessions is not only increased, but indexed to the costs of the goods and services they represent.
COTA SA will also meet with Ministers to brief them your needs in all policy areas in the run up to the Budget.
